It is true that the number of science students is becoming inadequate in different parts of the world.The essay below will analyze some explanations for this situation as well as its influence on society.

There are two principal factors that contribute to the common disinterest in science subjects.First,those subjects are often challenging and require a lot of diligence as well as a great deal of patience and intelligence.The number of researches that an average Biology student has to do far exceeds other subjects and they are often with a higher level of both difficulty and commitment,which discourages many students from choosing this as their major.Second,employment opportunities in this particular field are limited and extremely competitive.Although a huge amount of time and effort is spent on science study at school,there is still little chance for them to get a job after graduation.

兩個主要原因造成大家對自然科學專業不感興趣。首先，這些專業難度較大，並且需要很多的勤奮、耐心和智力才行。一名生物學生平均要做的研究數量遠遠超過其他專業。而且這些實驗往往難度很大，需要十分投入。這就使得許多學生不會將其作為自己的專業。其次，這一領域的就業機會有限，競爭十分激烈。雖然學生在學校裏花費了大量的時間和精力用於科學研究，但畢業之後仍然很難找到工作。

Society greatly suffers from the scarcity of human resources in science fields.Apparently,as the number of science students declines,other majors such as business or economics become prevalent,causing the imbalance in the future workforce.In fact,increasing competitiveness due to too many degree holders of the same expertise pushes a worrying number of graduates to the verge of unemployment.Another problem is that the shortage of science professionals as qualified employees will slow the technology development of a country and thus undermine its position in this globalised world.

由於自然科學領域人力資源的缺乏，社會會遭遇許多問題。很明顯，隨著自然科學學生數量的下降，其他諸如商業和經濟學一類的專業會更加流行，造成未來勞動力的不平衡。事實上，由於同一專業的學位持有者太多，日益增長的競爭會將大量畢業生推向失業的邊緣。另一個問題是，科學領域專業人員的缺乏會降低一個國家的技術發展速度，並因此削弱它在當今這個全球化世界的地位。

In conclusion,hurdles regarding some strict requirements of science subjects and employment opportunities are factored in a lot of students not choosing such subjects to study,and there are serious problems arising from this situation.
